Gastroenterology Research Nurse
Full Time, Fixed Term Opportunity
Join the Department of Gastroenterology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital as a Research Nurse, supporting investigator-led and industry-sponsored clinical research.
About the Role
The Research Nurse will work closely with key stakeholders within the Department of Gastroenterology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital, supporting the delivery of multiple national and international clinical research studies. This role is responsible for recruiting clinical trial participants, coordinating and conducting study visits, data entry, sample processing, participant follow-up, and ensuring all research activities are completed in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and the National Statement.
Working within a patient-centred environment, you will demonstrate the RMH values of People First, Lead with Kindness, and Excellence Together, providing high-quality care while contributing to research that improves health outcomes for people living with gastroenterological conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit and coordinate participants for clinical research studies.
- Conduct study visits, including venepuncture, ECGs, and other trial-specific procedures.
- Complete accurate data entry, sample processing, and participant follow-up.
- Ensure research activities comply with GCP guidelines, the National Statement, and study protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and research stakeholders.
- Participate in mandatory training, ongoing professional development, and annual performance discussions.
About You:
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality patient care.
- Excellent organisational skills with robust attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed assessment, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience performing venepuncture, ECGs, and other clinical trial procedures is highly regarded.
- A commitment to delivering patient-centred care and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
