About the role

We have exciting opportunities for casual Family Time Workers to join our Permanency Support Program Team. In this role you will work closely with children and young people, carers, and families to engage in safe and meaningful family time and activities while in out-of-home care. You will be responsible for:

- Provide professional, safe, high quality supervised family time between children, young people and their birth families, carers, or others as appropriate
- Encourage appropriate conversation and facilitate stimulating activities for children, young people and their birth parents/families that support them having a positive family time experience
- Work in partnership with Therapeutic Case Managers and other program staff
- Manage stakeholders with challenging behaviours using an appropriate and best practice approach
- Report observations during family time which are meaningful
- Maintain up to date case notes, records, reports, and other documentation, as required
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and legislative requirements relevant to the role

About you

- Relevant tertiary qualifications or working towards obtaining tertiary qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development and child protection issues




- Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated capacity and skills to work effectively with culturally diverse families
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early morning, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays
- Sound computer literacy skills
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current and valid driver’s licence
- Current First Aid certificate, or willingness to attain one within the first three months of employment
- Ability to write comprehensive family time report
