About the role

We are seeking an experienced Venue Manager - Approved Manager to join our team in Coffs Harbour, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage a premier hospitality venue in one of Australia's most attractive coastal locations.

As Venue Manager - Approved Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our venue, ensuring compliance with all licensing requirements and maintaining the highest standards of service, safety, and customer experience. This role carries significant responsibility and is integral to the success of our Coffs Harbour operations. You will be the key figurehead of the venue, responsible for setting the tone, driving profitability, and ensuring all legislative and regulatory obligations are met.

Key responsibilities

- Manage all day-to-day operations of the venue, including opening and closing procedures, stock control, and financial management
- Maintain full responsibility for liquor licensing compliance and act as the Approved Manager on behalf of the venue
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management to ensure a motivated and skilled team




- Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, regulations, and company policies, including duty of care and responsible service of alcohol
- Monitor and maintain venue safety standards, health and hygiene compliance, and security protocols
- Develop and implement strategies to maximise venue profitability and achieve financial target
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, staff, suppliers, and the local community
- Conduct regular stock takes, manage inventory, and control costs to improve margins
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
- Report on venue performance and provide management with regular updates on key metrics and operational issues

What we're looking for

- Current or eligible for Approved Manager Certification under NSW liquor licensing laws (or willingness to obtain certification)
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in hospitality venue management or similar senior operational role
- Proven track record of successful financial management, budgeting, and cost control
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse team
- Comprehensive knowledge of liquor licensing laws, responsible service of alcohol,



and health and safety regulations in NSW
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, customers, and stakeholders
- Problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in managing challenging situations
- Experience in customer service excellence and building loyalty
- Computer literacy and proficiency with point-of-sale systems and hospitality management software
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable customer experiences
