Job Description

We are seeking Software Engineers across multiple experience levels to join a growing team in Adelaide.

Whether you are early in your career or an experienced technical leader, you'll have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that support Australian Defence while developing your skills using contemporary technologies and engineering practices.

You'll contribute to the development of innovative software solutions within a collaborative environment that prioritises code quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain software applications using modern C++23 and contemporary development practices.
- Collaborate closely with Software Architects, Systems Engineers, and Test Engineers to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and peer collaboration activities.
- Contribute to coding standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support project planning, task estimation, and technical delivery activities.
- Drive software quality through testing, automation,



and DevOps practices.
- Engage with stakeholders and contribute to end-to-end project delivery.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and provide technical leadership (senior positions).

Education/Certifications Required

- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Relevant industry certifications are advantageous but not essential.

Knowledge/Skills Required

- Passion for software engineering and continuous learning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Experience developing software using C++ is highly regarded.
- Understanding of modern software engineering principles and development methodologies.
- Knowledge of Linux-based development environments is advantageous.
- Exposure to DevOps practices, automated testing, and continuous integration is beneficial.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Willingness to work on-site and contribute to a highly collaborative team culture.
