Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:35 AM - 2:35 PM

Our classrooms are intentionally small- typically six students supported by one teacher and one teacher aide- allowing educators to develop meaningful relationships while providing individualized instruction and support.

As a World Language Teacher at our Cambridge Campus, you'll provide engaging language instruction to students in grades 7-12 while adapting lessons to meet a variety of academic, behavioral, and learning needs. You'll help students develop communication skills, cultural awareness, and confidence while creating meaningful opportunities to explore another language and culture.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver engaging World Language instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards
- Provide instruction in the teacher's certified language area to students in grades 7-12
- Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language
- Incorporate cultural learning and authentic experiences to build students' understanding and appreciation of other languages and cultures
- Adapt lessons, assignments, and assessments to meet the diverse academic, behavioral, and learning needs of students with disabilities
- Implement students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), accommodations, and Behavior Intervention Plans as applicable
- Assess student learning using formal and informal methods and maintain accurate progress and instructional records
- Create a structured, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and language development
- Prepare instructional materials, assignments, activities, and assessments
- Collaborate with special education teachers,



related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success
- Support students in developing social-emotional skills, self-regulation, and problem-solving abilities
- Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques when necessary to maintain a safe learning setting
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Valid New York State teaching certification in an applicable World Language/LOTE content area required
- Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards for World Languages
- Experience teaching a World Language at the middle and/or high school level preferred
- Experience working with students with disabilities preferred
- Ability to differentiate and adapt instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
- Strong classroom management, communication, and instructional skills
- Commitment to building meaningful relationships with students and creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment
