Senior UX/UI Designer (AU Citizen with NV1 Security Clearance)

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design of intuitive, user-centred interfaces and experiences across complex digital products and services.

Translate user needs, business objectives, research insights, and technical constraints into end-to-end user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

Plan, lead, and synthesise user research, usability testing, and design validation activities to inform design decisions.

Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, developers, service designers, and senior stakeholders to shape product and experience outcomes.

Lead the development, evolution, and governance of design systems, style guides, reusable patterns, and UI component libraries.

Champion accessibility, usability, responsive design, and inclusive design standards across products and delivery teams.

Provide design specifications, interaction guidance, and ongoing support to development teams throughout implementation.

Review delivered solutions to ensure design quality, consistency, and alignment with intended user experiences.

Use qualitative and quantitative insights, user feedback, and product data to continuously improve experiences.

Facilitate design workshops, ideation sessions, and stakeholder discussions to drive alignment and outcomes.

Provide design leadership, mentoring, and constructive feedback to designers and broader team members.

Identify opportunities to improve UX/UI processes, standards, tools, and ways of working.

Advocate for user-centred design principles and effectively communicate the rationale behind design decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

7+ years' experience in UX/UI Design, Product Design, Service Design, or related disciplines.

Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end user-centred design, complex problem-solving, and measurable business and customer outcomes.

Extensive experience designing digital products and services across web, mobile, and enterprise platforms.

Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools, particularly Figma.

Strong experience leading user research, usability testing, and design validation activities.

Deep understanding of accessibility, inclusive design, responsive design, interaction design, and usability principles.

Experience developing, governing, and maintaining scalable design systems and reusable component libraries.

Proven experience working within Agile and multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and storytelling skills.

Ability to translate complex business, user, and technical requirements into intuitive and effective design solutions.

Ability to articulate and defend design decisions using research, user insights, data, and design principles.

Experience mentoring designers and driving design quality across teams.

Ability to balance user needs, business objectives, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.

Strong attention to detail while maintaining a strategic, end-to-end view of the customer experience.

Australian Citizen with active NV1 Security Clearance.
