About the Role
Private Equity and Corporate M&A; Tax Senior Consultant – based in Sydney. Join a dedicated team that works closely with domestic and international private equity & VC firms, corporate clients, and a global BDO Private Equity & Corporate M&A; team.
Responsibilities
- Work on the full range of Private Equity/M&A; tax advisory work, including tax due diligence, domestic and international transaction structuring, transaction documentation reviews, modelling, MEP structuring, FIRB considerations, Private Binding Ruling preparation, and fund structuring.
- Act as a contact person for internal stakeholders on transactions and assist with communications with external stakeholders such as clients, commercial lawyers, investment bankers, investigating accountants, and other service providers.
- Collaborate with Partners, Directors and Managers across BDO tax, Corporate Finance, Commercial Due Diligence, and Deal Advisory services teams also engaged on a transaction.
- Build enduring relationships with clients to develop your professional practice.
- Work in an inclusive, supportive and professional environment as part of a wider National Tax team with significant growth ambitions.
About You
- 2-4 years’ tax experience in a M&A;/Deals Advisory/Corporate tax practice at a Big‑Four accounting firm, mid‑tier accounting firm, or as a Corporate Tax advisor at a law firm.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Law,
plus professional qualifications such as CA, CTA or a law degree.
- Commercial understanding of M&A; transactions; strong project‑management, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound track record of assisting on tax due diligence, tax structuring and fund structuring, with an interest to develop these further.
- A collaborative, innovative and inclusive working style.
- An enquiring mind, open to new ways of thinking and approaches, and unafraid to challenge the status quo.
- A passion for tax.
Compensation
Negotiable salary commencing from $100,000 inclusive of superannuation.
