Senior Mental Health Recovery Practitioner

We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Mental Health Recovery Practitioner to play a key role in our residential services, supporting people to build practical living skills, strengthen independence, and move confidently along their recovery journey.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will:
- Carry a client case load, requiring the development, implementation and regular review of person‑centred recovery plans
- Support and guide a team of Mental Health Recovery Practitioners to:
- Build strong therapeutic relationships with residents, families and carers
- Provide 1:1 support, informal counselling and group‑based recovery programs
- Support residents to build practical living skills and maintain community tenure
- Provide delegated supervision and support to Mental Health Recovery Practitioners and Recovery Support Workers
- Respond to and manage critical incidents in line with policies and procedures
- Coordinate quality assurance and compliance activities through routine auditing, monitoring, reporting and follow‑up of operational and consumer documentation.
- Coordinate referral, intake and admission processes
- Contribute to effective service delivery and operational outcomes through documentation, reporting, service development and collaboration with service management.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and external agencies to promote wellbeing and recovery
- Work collaboratively with Health and Safety Representatives to maintain a safe, clean and supportive residential environment
- Coordinate and deliver onboarding and mandatory medication training to support workforce capability and compliance with LARU licensing requirements
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant human services discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar mental health role
- Strong experience in case management and recovery‑oriented practice
- Counselling and group facilitation skills
- Experience working in residential mental health settings in partnership with external service providers within a multidisciplinary environment (desirable)
- Demonstrated experience with providing supervision, guidance and support to staff
- Excellent communication, organisation and conflict management skills
- A genuine alignment with Richmind WA values
Lived experience of mental health recovery (personal or as a family member), and the ability to draw on this appropriately within professional boundaries, is highly valued.
This role is .8 FTE working Monday to Friday with a Thursday non‑working day, based in Orelia.

Requirements
The role will require the following certificates and licenses:
- Current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than six months)
- A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid, HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support, HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- A current working with Children Check
- A valid Driver’s licence
