About the role

As a Grants Program Officer, you will play a key role in supporting all stages of grants delivery across a range of key initiatives at Multicultural Affairs, including the Multicultural Seniors Support program, the Multicultural Media Grants program and a range of programs focused on supporting priority, new and emerging multicultural communities.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate solid stakeholder engagement skills, a passion for systems, process and program improvement, and the ability to work flexibly across competing priorities. Experience with grants management systems (such as Grants360) and Victorian Government briefing and correspondence processes will be highly regarded.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound grants management, analytical and problem-solving skills to support program delivery. The role also requires strong communication, stakeholder engagement and project management capabilities, including the ability to prepare high-quality briefs and written advice.

Key Accountabilities

- Under limited direction, support the delivery of complex, high-volume community grant programs, including assessment of applications and supporting documentation, and management of funding agreements and reporting on program outcomes.
- Maintain accurate grants records in Grants360,



in line with DPC’s grants management framework and work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team delivering complex, high-volume grant programs.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental records, information security and privacy policies.
- Provide advice and information to stakeholders on multicultural grant programs, consistent with best practice stakeholder engagement and grants management principles.
- Provide clear and accurate verbal and written advice to senior managers and the Minister for Multicultural Affairs to support decision-making.
- Identify risks and opportunities within grant programs and contribute to continuous improvement and best practice.
- Comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) requirements and take reasonable care for your own health and safety, and that of others.
- Undertake other duties as required, consistent with the responsibilities and classification of the role.
- Experience in grants administration and management.
- Knowledge of grants management systems (e.g., Grants360).
- Sector knowledge and experience: demonstrated experience working with diverse communities and/or subject matter expertise in multicultural affairs is desirable.
