About the Role
A specialist Defence technology organisation is seeking a Business Analyst with deep ADF Electronic Warfare (EW) operational experience to help design and deliver high-impact, fit-for-purpose solutions for Defence.
This role is ideal for someone who understands how Defence systems are used in the real world, where operational gaps and bottlenecks exist, and what end users genuinely need.
You will work closely with ADF operators, Defence stakeholders and technical teams to translate operational requirements into practical solutions across software, planning systems, Command & Control (C2) and mission systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply real-world ADF EW operational experience to identify capability gaps, challenges and opportunities.
- Engage directly with end users to understand their needs, operational requirements and pain points.
- Translate user requirements into clear business, functional and system requirements.
- Analyse existing systems, processes and workflows to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Work with software, engineering and technical teams to shape practical, user-focused solutions.
- Support workshops, requirements gathering, testing, validation and solution delivery.
- Build strong relationships across Defence and contribute to identifying potential business and client opportunities.
- Help communicate the organisation's mission and the real-world impact of its solutions to Defence stakeholders.
- Support and, where required, lead teams and client engagements.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Deep ADF Electronic Warfare operator experience, such as AFEMSOC, JEMSOC, HQJOC, or experience operating an EW platform.
- A strong understanding of Defence operations, systems and end-user environments.
- Business Analysis experience across requirements gathering, process analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- The ability to bridge the gap between Defence operators and technical teams.
- Strong communication, organisation, judgement and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to quickly learn and work with new software systems and technologies.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to contribute across delivery, client engagement and business development.
- A genuine interest in helping Defence solve real-world operational problems.
Software experience or a strong interest in software is highly desirable, but not essential.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to use your first-hand Defence experience to directly influence the technology and solutions delivered to the ADF - helping ensure they solve genuine operational problems and deliver meaningful mission impact.
You will work at the intersection of Defence, technology and operational capability, with the opportunity to shape solutions based on genuine end-user needs and make a tangible contribution to Defence outcomes.
Don't tick every box? No problem.
If you have strong ADF EW operational experience and meet some of the requirements above, we'd still love to hear from you. If you bring the right experience, mindset and passion for helping Defence solve real-world problems.
