Mendmate is looking for a reliable, self dependant and motivated carpenter to join our growing team on a full-time subcontractor basis. We’re seeking someone who has ideally been qualified for around one year post-apprenticeship and is looking to continue developing their skills across a variety of residential projects.

We’re looking for a skilled, well-rounded Carpenter who considers themselves a strong tradesperson with great knowledge across all aspects of carpentry. Our projects range from residential maintenance and repairs through to renovations, and from time to time require a broad range of practical trade skills. As a current carpentry team of two, we’re looking for the right person to become our third team member.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, confident working independently without constant supervision, and able to come to work each day with a genuine can-do attitude. We want someone who takes pride in carpentry as a career, values high-quality workmanship and wants to grow alongside a business that is expanding quickly. We’re looking for someone who sees themselves as part of the team and the business, and who is eager to help Mendmate grow, rather than simply an employee.

You should be able to take instructions, understand what needs to be done and deliver a professional result for our residential clients. Being neat, presentable, approachable and comfortable working either independently or alongside the team on larger projects is extremely important to us.

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is a qualified carpenter with approximately one year (or more) post-apprenticeship experience
- Has experience working on new homes and/or residential renovations
- Takes pride in producing quality workmanship, this is a company that cannot afford to be called back twice
- Has strong attention to detail and a positive attitude
- Is reliable, punctual and works well independently and as part of a team
- Holds a current driver’s licence and White Card
- Has their own tools and transport
- Works at a fast rate
- Can be trusted to consistently make us good cashflow on return of work
- We do not want a slack employee; we want someone motivated to impress our clients
