About the role

We are seeking Disability Support Workers to join our Program team at St Clair NSW 2759 and SIL team across Penrith on a casual basis. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing compassionate, person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and maintain their independence. This position offers flexible working arrangements, making it ideal for those seeking casual employment. You will work directly with clients in their homes and community settings, providing essential support and care that makes a tangible difference to their wellbeing and quality of life.

What you'll be doing

- Providing personal care and support, including assistance with daily living activities such as grooming, hygiene, and meal preparation
- Assisting clients with mobility support and secure transferring techniques
- Supporting clients to participate in community activities, social outings, and recreational programs
- Helping clients develop life skills and build independence in areas such as budgeting, shopping, and time management
- Maintaining accurate and timely records of support provided and any relevant observations about client wellbeing
- Building positive, trusting relationships with clients based on respect, dignity, and person-centred values
- Communicating effectively with clients, families, and the broader support team to ensure coordinated care
- Following all relevant support plans, health and safety protocols, and organisational policies and procedures




- Promoting client rights, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
- Responding respectfully and professionally to clients' individual needs and preferences

What we're looking for

- A genuine commitment to supporting people with disabilities and promoting their independence and wellbeing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to relate positively to clients from diverse backgrounds
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations
- Physical fitness and capability to provide hands-on support, including assistance with mobility and personal care
- Reliability and the ability to work flexibly across varying casual hours as required
- A current, valid Australian driving licence and access to reliable transport (for visiting clients in their homes)
- Willingness to obtain relevant certifications, including First Aid and CPR training
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A commitment to maintaining privacy, confidentiality and upholding high standards of professional conduct
- Relevant disability support qualifications or prior experience in aged care, disability support, or community services are highly valued, though not essential
