Cost Recovery Officer - APS 6

About the role
As the APS 6 Cost Recovery Officer, you will:
- coordinate and manage key cost recovery processes, including monthly activity surveys, and maintenance of the ACMA activity register
- contribute to the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the ACMA’s Activity Based Management (ABM) framework, including data collection, analysis and documentation
- provide accurate, timely and practical advice to internal and external stakeholders on cost recovery matters
- contribute to the preparation of CRIS and Fee Analysis Statements, ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and governance requirements
- build and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders across government, industry and the ACMA to support effective cost recovery outcomes
- apply and maintain knowledge of the Australian Government Charging Framework and associated cost recovery policies to support informed decision-making and compliance
- contribute to the development and review of cost recovery policies, procedures, Accountable Authority Instructions (AAIs) and guidance materials, identifying opportunities to improve business processes and operational efficiency
- support a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and undertaking other duties as required.
Our ideal candidate
We are seeking a capable and cooperative Cost Recovery Officer who can apply sound judgement, analytical skills and attention to detail in a regulatory finance environment. The ideal candidate will have:
- an understanding of the Australian Government Charging Framework and Cost Recovery Guidelines
- well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a complex regulatory and financial environment
- demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide high-quality reports and documentation
- a commitment to continuous improvement and quality outcomes
- experience in cost recovery would be highly regarded; however, candidates with transferable skills and relevant experience from related fields are encouraged to apply.
