Please note: This position is NOT under the VPS Enterprise Agreement. The successful candidate will be appointed under the Electoral Act 2002 for state elections and under the Local Government (Electoral) Regulations 2020 for council elections. The pay and conditions for this role, are set out under the VEC's Election Staff Remuneration and Allowance Framework.

Interviews will be conducted the week commencing 7 September, with training for successful candidates undertaken in mid to late September 2026.

What you will be doing

You will lead the logistics and resourcing function for a hub supporting one or more electoral districts. Hubs are central field-based sites that coordinate staffing, logistics, resources and operational support during an election.

You do not need previous election experience. We will train you on electoral processes, systems and procedures.



We are looking for someone who can lead a team, manage competing priorities and ensure critical election materials are handled accurately, securely and on time.

Day to day, you will:

- Lead a small logistics and resourcing team to support election operations across multiple districts
- Coordinate the preparation, distribution, tracking and return of election materials and equipment
- Oversee the secure handling and reconciliation of ballot papers and other sensitive electoral materials
- Manage inventory, stock control and resource allocation across voting centres
- Coordinate delivery and collection schedules for election materials and equipment
- Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with established procedures
- Monitor operational risks and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
- Work closely with election managers, hub teams and external stakeholders to support election delivery
- Support the return of materials process and the decommissioning of hub operations following election events

During a state election, activity levels increase rapidly. You will play a key role in ensuring voting centres receive the resources they need, while maintaining the security, integrity and accountability that Victorians expect from their elections.

What you will bring to the role

- Experience leading logistics, operational, warehouse, inventory or resource management activities
- Experience supervising, motivating and supporting a small team to achieve results
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to operational challenges
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills




- Experience maintaining accurate records and working within established procedures
- An understanding of workplace health and safety principles and safe work practices
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications and learning current systems
- A commitment to integrity, professionalism and the secure handling of sensitive materials

Additional requirements:

- A current driver's licence and confidence driving a one-tonne van

This role involves moving election materials and equipment, operating manual handling equipment, working across warehouse and operational environments, and working extended or irregular hours during peak election periods.
