Blacktown

Work that matters, done with people who care.

Join our Greenspace Services team as a trade-qualified Gardener and help maintain the parks, gardens and public spaces that residents use every day. You work in a crew responsible for formal gardens, landscaped CBD areas, community hubs and other high-profile locations where presentation, safety and consistency are important.

Your day includes mowing and edging lawns, maintaining garden beds, trimming and organising hedges, checking irrigation systems and monitoring plant health. You plant trees and shrubs, apply mulch, control weeds, undertake minor landscaping works and operate equipment such as mowers, edgers and whipper snippers. You identify hazards, keep sites clean and protected, support apprentices and help ensure work is completed to a high horticultural standard.

The work is visible and practical. Families, visitors and local residents use these spaces every day, and the quality of your work helps keep them attractive, safe and enjoyable.

This role suits someone who enjoys outdoor work, leads by example and takes pride in maintaining high-quality public spaces.

At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams,

and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:

- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,420.05 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
