**The Role:**
In this volunteer role, you’ll be paired with an ageing senior to provide regular social support visits in their home. Activities are guided by shared interests and may include conversation, listening to music, playing board games or simply enjoying a relaxed chat. Visits are approximately 2 hours and focused on building trust, confidence and companionship.

**Our Client:**
You’ll be supporting a male in his late 70s who lives with his wife on their rural property. He describes his two working dogs as very important to him, and he enjoys reading nonfiction and loves war history, nature, animals, sport, (AFL - Hawthorn or Sydney), cricket, wants to get involved in the veggie garden.
Regrettably he has declining cognition and memory function which is leading to him spending increased time at home with less social contact. This is where you come in. Through your weekly social support visits, you will assist this individual to continue to live at home with meaningful social connection.

**About You:**
* Lives in and around Derrinallum or is happy to travel.
* Possess clear communication skills.
* Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener.
* Passionate about giving back to your community.
* Conducts yourself with open-mindedness and respect, ensuring the privacy, confidentiality, and dignity of our clients is always maintained.
* Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program.
* Availability for a versatile six-month commitment.

**Time Commitment:**
2 hour per week or fortnight, Monday – Friday between 9:00 – 5:00pm.
