About the Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining food quality and presentation, and ensuring that kitchen operations comply with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities Plan, prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and customer requirements. Prepare ingredients, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other food products.
Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards. Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes and menu improvements. Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food supplies and ingredients.
Maintain appropriate food storage, temperature control and stock rotation procedures.
Ensure all food preparation and kitchen activities comply with food safety and hygiene standards. Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
Minimise food wastage and maintain appropriate portion control. Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service. Assist with supervising and guiding kitchen staff where required.
Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain secure kitchen practices. Skills and Experience The successful applicant should have:
Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality, or equivalent skills and experience. Relevant commercial kitchen experience. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Solid attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
