What you'll do
As the Senior Workforce Planning Officer, you will undertake research, environmental scanning, literature reviews, and policy analysis to inform workforce planning initiatives and support evidence-based decision-making. You will contribute to the development and implementation of workforce planning strategies, frameworks, tools, and reporting mechanisms, while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to support organisational objectives. Working across a range of workforce projects, you will apply project management methodologies to effectively coordinate, monitor, and report on workforce initiatives, recommend strategies to strengthen workforce supply and reform, and engage with diverse stakeholders to achieve key outcomes. You will prepare high-quality reports, submissions, plans, and communication materials on complex workforce planning and service delivery matters, often within time-critical environments. In addition, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of branch activities, ensure compliance with contemporary human resource management principles and legislative requirements, and demonstrate ethical decision-making in alignment with Queensland Public Sector values.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
- Knowledge, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge on workforce planning issues, priorities and potential solutions.
- A detailed understanding of leading practice workforce planning principles and methodologies and the ability to apply this knowledge in a large, complex organisational setting.
- Sound research skills including the capability to critically analyse, summarise and apply health literature, data and information into plans, reports, discussion papers and submissions.
- Sound project management skills, including the ability to develop project documentation,
and support day to day project monitoring and delivery activities.
- High interpersonal skills, including ability to develop and manage productive working relationships with the team and key internal and external stakeholders and ability to effectively represent the interests of the Department.
