Work that matters, done with people who care.
Our Trades and Maintenance teams keep the city moving by maintaining the parks, gardens and public spaces our community relies on every day. You lead a small crew to maintain formal gardens, landscaped areas and premier passive open spaces, ensuring sites are safe, well presented and maintained to a high horticultural standard.
You organise daily work, allocate resources and work alongside your team to complete mowing, edging, hedge trimming, garden maintenance, mulching, watering, weed control and landscape maintenance. You monitor plant health, check irrigation systems, respond to hazards and keep paths, lawns and garden areas clean and safe. You support your team through on-the-job training, performance monitoring and toolbox talks.
This is hands-on work with visible results. The parks and gardens you maintain are used daily by families, walkers and visitors. Well-kept lawns, healthy gardens and tidy open spaces help create places the community can enjoy with confidence.
We take pride in practical work that matters and invest in your development. You have access to training, opportunities to build current skills and support to grow your leadership capability. You also have reliable hours, the right tools and a team that values safety, teamwork and doing the job well.
This role suits someone who leads by example, enjoys outdoor work, has experience supervising small teams and takes pride in maintaining high-quality public spaces.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,468.72 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
