This is a senior public sector leadership role requiring someone who understands government, can operate confidently with Commissioner‑level stakeholders and brings a strong background in strategic program delivery.

The first 18 months will focus on establishing the foundations for the future delivery phase, including governance, stakeholder alignment, program mobilisation, procurement, data initiatives and future investment planning.

Role

- Establish governance, reporting and decision‑making arrangements.
- Engage and influence Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and senior executives.
- Translate the approved business case into a explicit program roadmap.
- Lead program mobilisation and initiate priority projects.
- Manage cross‑agency dependencies, risks and competing priorities.
- Oversee strategic planning, procurement and future funding submissions.

- Work collaboratively with an established leadership team while building broader delivery capability.
- Provide strategic direction across ICT, data, architecture and business change.

About you

- Current or recent experience operating at Executive Director level or equivalent.
- Extensive public sector experience and a strong understanding of government processes, governance and accountabilities.
- Experience working with Commissioner‑level or equivalent senior stakeholders.
- Proven success leading complex multi‑agency or whole‑of‑government programs.
- A strong strategic ICT, data or digital program delivery background.
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining practical and delivery‑focused.
- Experience with business cases, government approvals, procurement and funding processes.
- Sufficient technical understanding to interpret architecture, data and ICT delivery matters.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and negotiation capability.
- High standards of integrity, judgement and public sector values.

Applications will be assessed as they are received. Applications close, 22 July 2026, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
