Join Wesley Mission Queensland as a Disability Support Worker in our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) team. This is hands‑on, meaningful work where you support vulnerable people with disability to build independence in their everyday lives.
Responsibilities
- Led by Registered Nurses Trained to practice High Intensity Supports (i.e. Dysphasia management, Epilepsy, Tracheostomy).
- Provide personal care and daily living support (meals, hygiene, household tasks).
- Support individuals to build independence and life skills.
- Assist with community access and participation.
- Work collaboratively with a team to deliver active supports and person‑centred care.

- Help someone cook their first independent meal.
- Support a resident to confidently leave home and access the community.
- Deliver responsive support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
- Build trust through everyday routines, conversations, and shared activities.

Pay and Perks
Permanent DSW Pay Rates: Mon–Fri (AM shifts): $36.22/hr
Mon–Fri (Afternoon shifts): $40.75/hr
Mon–Fri (Night shifts): $41.65/hr
Saturday: $54.33/hr
Sunday: $72.44/hr
Public Holidays:
$90.55/hr
Sleepover allowance: $62.11

About you

Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence – with full comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid & CPR.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
