Role Overview

As a Youthmix mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people as they navigate their career paths. You will work closely with your mentees to help them set goals, develop skills, explore career options, and overcome challenges. Your role will involve building positive relationships, offering constructive feedback, and connecting mentees with relevant resources.

Responsibilities

- Build trusting and supportive relationships with assigned mentees
- Assist mentees in setting realistic career goals and developing action plans to achieve them
- Provide guidance and advice on career exploration, educational opportunities, and skill development
- Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to help mentees overcome obstacles and stay motivated
- Connect mentees with relevant resources,



networks, and opportunities in their chosen field
- Maintain regular communication with mentees to track progress and address any concerns or issues that arise

Qualifications

- Passion for working with young people and helping them succeed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy, patience, and a non‑judgmental attitude
- Ability to listen actively and provide constructive feedback
- Possess a minimum of one year work experience or more
- Previous mentoring or coaching experience is preferred but not required

Time Commitment

Your time commitment can be as much or as little as you and the mentee agree upon. It's flexible and can be tailored to fit both your schedules. Whether it's a one‑off 30‑minute virtual catch‑up or ongoing support.
