Electrical Fitter / Motor Rewinder – Brisbane
Permanent Full-Time | $48–$55ph + Super | Day Shift | Relocation Assistance Available
Are you an experienced Electrical Fitter, Motor Rewinder or Armature Winder with a background in electric motor repairs and overhauls?
We are recruiting for a well-established Brisbane-based electrical engineering and repair business specialising in the overhaul, repair and refurbishment of AC/DC electric motors and rotating equipment.
This is a permanent workshop-based opportunity offering long-term stability, Monday-to-Friday hours and the prospect to work across a diverse range of industrial equipment.

The Role Working within an established electrical workshop, your responsibilities will include:
- Stripping, inspecting and assessing AC and DC electric motors
- Overhauling, repairing and rebuilding electric motors
- Capturing and recording accurate winding data
- Low-voltage AC motor rewinding
- Rewinding stators, rotors, armatures and field frames
- Working with formed-coil and random-wound motors
- Testing motor windings and identifying electrical faults
- Using electrical test equipment to diagnose faults
- Reading wiring diagrams, drawings and specifications
- Completing incoming electrical testing and recording results
- Washing, baking, varnishing and curing windings
- Preparing stators, rotors and armatures for rewinding
- Motor assembly, testing and preparation for dispatch
- Providing technical support to other workshop team members
- Maintaining a strong focus on quality and safety
About You We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked within an electric motor repair, motor rewinding, rotating equipment, generator, pump or electrical machine repair workshop.
Ideally, you will have:
- Australian-recognised Electrical Fitter or relevant electrical trade qualification
- Previous AC and/or DC motor overhaul experience
- Electric motor repair or rewinding experience
- Knowledge of stators, rotors, armatures and motor windings
- Strong electrical fault-finding and testing skills
- Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
Experience with formed coils, random winding, armature winding, VPI/varnishing or larger industrial motors will be highly regarded.
