Take ownership of key finance functions and help shape the future of our finance team. ?
Narangba Timbers is looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance Team and take ownership of our Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking functions.
This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for keeping the day-to-day finance function running accurately and efficiently, while also having the opportunity to improve how we work through automation, technology and AI.
? What You’ll Be Doing
You'll play a key role across our finance function, including:
- Taking ownership of the Accounts Payable workflow, including invoice processing, exceptions, supplier queries and payment runs
- Managing Accounts Receivable activities, including invoicing, credit checks, aged debtors and customer account queries
- Processing daily banking transactions, payment allocations and reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records
- Supporting month-end close through reconciliations, journals, accruals, prepayments and variance resolution
- Assisting with maintenance of the fixed asset register and supporting accurate financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate supplier and customer records
- Identifying opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
- Working closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen financial controls, systems and processes
? What You'll Bring to the Table We're looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of their work and can bring both strong technical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
You'll ideally have
- Demonstrated experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and/or Banking
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- An interest in using technology,
automation and AI to find smarter and more efficient ways of working
- Moderate Excel skills and confidence learning new systems
- Robust organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a small finance team
- A proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues, with sound judgement around when to escalate
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems, AP automation or AI-assisted finance tools will be highly regarded
