Electrical Contracting | Full time | Office-Based We’re looking for an experienced, organised and proactive Administration & Customer Service Coordinator to join our electrical contracting business.
This is a hands-on, office-based role suited to someone who enjoys being at the centre of a busy service business — speaking with customers, coordinating technicians, managing schedules, processing invoices and making sure the day-to-day administration of the business runs smoothly.
You’ll be joining an established electrical contracting company with a busy team of electricians and apprentices delivering electrical, solar, air conditioning and associated services.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Answering incoming calls and providing professional, friendly customer service
- Responding to customer enquiries by phone and email
- Booking jobs and coordinating appointments
- Scheduling and allocating work to electricians and apprentices
- Communicating with technicians throughout the day regarding jobs and schedule changes
- Keeping customers updated on bookings, technician arrival times and job progress
- Creating and maintaining customer and job records
- Processing completed jobs and preparing invoices
- Following up outstanding information required for invoicing
- General office administration and data entry
- Assisting with documentation, purchase orders and supplier information
- Supporting the wider office and management team as required
- Helping identify ways to improve our administrative systems and customer experience
About You
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of their responsibilities and work confidently in a fast-moving environment. To be successful, you will need:
- Previous experience in an administration,
customer service or office coordination role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Confidence speaking with customers over the phone
- The ability to prioritise multiple jobs and changing requirements throughout the day
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when processing job information and invoices
- Good general computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- The ability to work independently while also being part of a team
- A proactive approach — you notice what needs doing and get on with it
Experience working for an electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, construction or other trade-services business would be highly regarded, but it is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with strong administrative experience, the right attitude and the ability to learn our industry. Experience with job-management or CRM software would also be advantageous.
Classification & Experience
The position requires someone capable of performing administrative duties consistent with Level 3 of the Clerks – Private Sector Award, including working with a reasonable level of autonomy, applying administrative experience and judgement, and taking responsibility for a broad range of clerical and administrative tasks. Previous administrative experience is therefore required.
What We Offer
- A permanent role with an established and growing electrical contracting business
- A varied position where no two days are exactly the same
- A supportive, team-focused office environment
- The chance to become an important part of the day-to-day operation of the business
- Training in our systems and the electrical/trade-services industry
- Opportunities to develop your responsibilities as the business grows
- Additional benefits and incentives available based on individual and business performance
