Riverland Statewide Legal Pty Ltd is expanding and seeking a dedicated and compassionate Law Clerk/Admin support Role to join our supportive legal team in Port Adelaide, South Australia. Casual Role - role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individuals and families navigate the justice system, particularly within the areas of criminal law and legal aid services. You will work closely with our staff to ensure clients receive timely, respectful, and high‑quality legal assistance. We have an office in Port Adelaide We are a busy family run business, so you need to be able to work alone and also manage a high workload.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking phone calls and organising appointments and calendar.
- Drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents such as court forms, briefs, letters, and client correspondence
- Organising and maintaining both electronic and physical files to ensure smooth and productive case management
- Providing day‑to‑day administrative support, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, and responding to client enquiries
- Assisting with the preparation and lodgement of Legal Aid applications, court documents, and other essential paperwork
- Attending court with lawyers when required and helping prepare clients for their appointments
- Supporting clients and their families with empathy, professionalism, and clear communication throughout their legal journey
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant qualifications or experience in a similar role in criminal law, such as administrative certificates, paralegal certificate, or equivalent. MUST HAVE CRIMINAL LAW EXPERIENCE or SIMILAR.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to identify key legal issues quickly
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment
- Confidence using legal research tools and standard software, including the Microsoft Office suite
- Warm, effective communication skills and the ability to work respectfully with clients from diverse backgrounds
- A proactive, adaptable approach and a genuine interest in criminal law, community legal work, and access to justice
- At least 6 months of experience in a legal environment or similar role - prefer criminal law experience
- Australian citizenship is required for this role
