North Melbourne Kangaroos is a up-to-date AFL football club based in the beating heart of urban, inner-city North Melbourne. At the Kangaroos we are known for our fighting spirit – a bold and never beaten attitude that has won us six premierships and allowed us to achieve the extraordinary together. Description

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

The successful applicants will complete a placement, alongside the Performance Analysis team within the football department, based predominantly at the club’s headquarters in North Melbourne.

North Melbourne Football Club will provide an inclusive environment aimed at accelerating learning and enhancing practical skills. Tasks will include technology set up, filming sessions, coding/analysing vision, collecting football statistics and some data entry, yielding invaluable insight into professional training environments.

Placement opportunities exist across our AFL and VFL teams and will span training, with the potential for VFL match day involvement if circumstances allow.

This placement opportunity commences in late November 2026 to September 2027.

Skills And Experiences

ELIGIBILITY

Students will have completed a minimum of 2 years of an undergraduate Exercise/Sports Science, Information Technology, Statistics degree (or equivalent) and have an upcoming placement unit as part of their course. The successful candidate is required to hold a current and valid Victorian Working with Children’s Check.

North Melbourne Football Club is looking for reliable individuals with a willingness to learn, who possess the ability to thrive in a team environment, as well as take initiative and work independently when required. The successful applicants will be effective communicators who demonstrate a high level of professionalism and an exceptional work ethic. A passion for Australian Rules Football, some exposure to team sport and competence in excel is desirable.
