Carpentry Apprentice - Commercial and Residential Construction Industry
Allen Built are seeking a apprentice carpenter committed to a long-term career within the construction industry. The successful candidate will receive formal RTO training to achieve their Certificate 3 in Carpentry, as well as required onsite learning, with the apprenticeship duration spanning four years. Working alongside and under the direction of Site Supervisors and Carpenters, the apprentice will need to be physically fit and motivated.
Specific tasks the role would entail include (but are not limited to):
- Basic labouring tasks including but not limited to digging, site cleaning, driving work vehicles and moving items.
- Attending all TasTAFE and other training.
- Cutting and assembling materials together.
- General assistance to Allen Built carpenters including assisting with all types of carpentry work in building timber,
part timber or other material-made items which form part of buildings (such as windows and stairs) both internal and external, and additional associated timber and non-timber items, such as decks, staircases, soffits, etc.
- Assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unloading and check deliveries.
- Assisting to maintain accurate worksheets and records/documentation.
- Performing tasks to support Allen Built's office team e.g. lodgement of timesheets, tip dockets, etc.
The role would ideally suit a motivated school leaver driven to pursue a trade-based career.
Essential qualifications
- Manual drivers licence.
- Own vehicle suitable for trade work.
- Construction industry white card (or ability to quickly acquire one).
- Working with vulnerable people card (or ability to quickly acquire one).
- Satisfactory levels of literacy and numeracy.
