Role Description The Automotive Mechanic is a full time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This role involves performing routine vehicle maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and completing repairs in line with manufacturer and safety standards.
The Automotive
Mechanic will inspect vehicles, identify faults, replace or repair parts, and conduct road tests to ensure proper performance.
Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate service records, keeping the workshop organized and safe, and communicating clearly with colleagues and clients about work performed.
The mechanic is expected to support high levels of customer satisfaction through quality workmanship, timely service, and professional conduct.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair, including scheduled servicing and preventive care.
- Candidates should possess solid Automotive Repair skills for diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Candidates should possess broad Automotive knowledge, including familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and manufacturer specifications.
- Candidates should possess a focus on Customer Satisfaction, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and deliver reliable service.
- Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in automotive mechanics or light vehicle technology.
- Experience working in a workshop or service center environment, with understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and repair manuals effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
