Role: Azure Databricks Engineer

- We're looking for someone who can operate at both a strategic and hands on level, with robust stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence outcomes across a complex environment
- We're looking for a Azure Databricks Engineer to support our Data team, with a strong focus on Databricks platform optimisation and cost management.
- The ideal candidate should have deep experience with Databricks and cloud data platforms, with a proven track record of driving platform efficiency, governance, and cost optimisation initiatives.
- This role will work closely with both internal stakeholders and external partners to identify, prioritise, and deliver optimisation opportunities across the platform.

Key responsibilities would include:

- Leading the platform cost optimisation agenda across Databricks and associated cloud services.




- Working collaboratively with engineering, architecture, operations, and business teams to identify and implement optimisation opportunities.
- Establishing and tracking optimisation roadmaps, savings targets, and outcomes.
- Providing leadership and direction to a team of engineers focused on platform performance, efficiency, and cost management.
- Driving adoption of best practices across compute, storage, serverless, governance, and operational processes.
- Engaging with vendors and platform providers to leverage new capabilities and optimisation opportunities.
