NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core)

Blooming Supports is growing our behaviour support team, and we're looking for a Core-level NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner who wants to write plans that actually get used — not paperwork that sits in a drawer. If you want real cases, real supervision, and a team that backs you while you build toward Proficient-level registration, we'd like to talk to you.

About Blooming Supports

Blooming Supports is a Western Australian NDIS provider working alongside participants and their families to build good, connected lives. Behaviour support sits at the centre of what we do — it's how we help people stay in their homes, keep their relationships, and reduce reliance on restrictive practices. We're a close-knit clinical team: your work is visible here, and you're never carrying a complex case alone.

About the Role

Twelve months in, you'll be holding your own caseload, writing and reviewing behaviour support plans that measurably reduce restrictive practices, and acting as a trusted point of contact for participants, families, and support workers. You'll work under the supervision of our Behaviour Support Team Leader while you build the experience and evidence base to move toward Proficient-level registration — with genuine cases and direct feedback, not shadow work.

What You'll Do

● Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop individualised behaviour support plans in line with the NDIS Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework

● Work directly with participants, families, support coordinators, and support workers to put plans into practice across home and community settings

● Train and coach support workers and families on strategies,

so plans hold up once you've left the room

● Collect and analyse behavioural data, and review and adjust plans based on what that data actually shows

● Identify and work toward reducing restrictive practices, including the required reporting to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission

● Support de-escalation during incidents and complete the required incident documentation

● Keep case notes and reports accurate, timely, and audit-ready against NDIS Commission and Blooming Supports standards

What We're Looking For

Required

● Registration — or current eligibility for registration — with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission as a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Core level

● A relevant qualification in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, behavioural science, or a related field

● Experience working with people with disability — behaviour support, allied health, or direct support experience all count

● Solid report-writing skills: plans need to be clear enough for a support worker to follow without you in the room

● A current WA driver's licence and willingness to travel to participants' homes and community settings

● Willingness to obtain (or hold) an NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance and a current National Police Clearance

Preferred

● Accredited Positive Behaviour Support training, or specific training in Applied Behaviour Analysis

● Prior experience working toward, or holding, NDIS Commission registration

● Experience with a specific population — autism, psychosocial disability, or complex support needs
