About the Role
Vaxxas is seeking a Bioprocess Scientist/Engineer to support the development and transfer of vaccine drug substance manufacturing processes. Reporting to the Team Lead within the CMC Development team, you will play a key role in bioprocess development, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), formulation support, analytical testing, and manufacturing readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) & Bioprocess Development
- Support the development, optimisation and execution of TFF and bioprocessing activities for vaccine development programs.
- Analyse process data, prepare technical documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure activities are completed in line with project timelines, quality requirements and development objectives.
CMC Manufacturing Readiness
- Support the translation of development processes into manufacturing-ready operations.
- Assist with equipment qualification, material management, process documentation and GMP readiness activities.
- Contribute to manufacturing campaigns and ongoing process support as required.
Technology Transfer
- Assist with the transfer of processes from development into manufacturing.
- Prepare and maintain documentation, training materials and supporting resources to enable successful process implementation.
- Work closely with Manufacturing and Operations teams to ensure smooth process adoption.
Analytical Evaluation
- Perform analytical testing and characterisation of process samples to support development activities.
- Assist with analytical method development, qualification and routine testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process understanding and product development outcomes
About You You are a proactive and collaborative scientist or engineer with experience in bioprocess development and a passion for translating research into scalable manufacturing processes.
You will ideally have
- A degree in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Science or a related discipline.
- Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, biologics or a related regulated industry.
- Knowledge of bioprocess development, process optimisation and/or technology transfer.
- Familiarity with GMP and/or GLP requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical writing skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
