The Role
At Nexis, we go beyond traditional bookkeeping,
we partner with clients to deliver bookkeeping and financial administration services that support better business decisions and performance.
As a Bookkeeper, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of their financial data, facilitating efficient processes and acting as a trusted partner in their financial workflow and decisions.
Some of your responsibilities include:
- Managing client relationships and providing outstanding service;
- Processing and reviewing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;
- Preparing and reconciling Payroll and Superannuation;
- Performing bank reconciliations, general ledger maintenance and other bookkeeping integrity tasks;
- Preparing and lodging BAS / IAS statements; ensuring compliance and correctness;
- Assisting with financial reporting and tax compliance;
- Advising clients (and internal teams) on accounting software setups (Xero/MYOB) and automation opportunities; and
- General financial administration as required.

About you
You’ll bring a combination of technical knowledge, client service excellence, and a proactive mindset. You deliver with precision, responsiveness, and a solution-focused approach. You thrive in client-facing roles,
confidently managing multiple clients while taking pride in helping them streamline their businesses and systems.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Ideally minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting or professional services firm, or alternatively a graduate accountant who is looking for a pathway into an accounting role in the future;
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency;
- Experience in Xero and working knowledge of MYOB (or equivalent);
- Demonstrated experience managing Payroll, PAYG, Superannuation, reconciliations, BAS/IAS lodgements;
- Strong understanding of accounting systems, workflows and data integrity;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, client-oriented approach and collaborative mindset;
- Highly organised, able to run multiple client engagements simultaneously, managing competing priorities with minimal supervision;
- Interest in contributing to continuous improvement: process automation, software setup, efficiencies; and
- A genuine passion for supporting client growth, understanding business goals and delivering reliable financial administration.
