You’ll probably love this role if you…
You like being busy and having a few things on the go. You enjoy variety, you’re organised and you get satisfaction from getting things done properly. You’re good with people and good with systems. You notice the details, follow things up and don’t mind when something unexpected lands on your desk.
If that sounds like you, we think you’ll really enjoy working at VPG.
We’re a friendly, down-to-earth team who care about what we do and enjoy working together. This role works right across VPG, so you’ll get to know our people, our programs and how the organisation works.
There really isn’t a typical day.
You might welcome young people, process referrals and update client records, organise a vehicle service, answer an enquiry from a school, help someone find the right service, sort out a maintenance issue, order supplies or help a team stay on top of their program administration.
And occasionally, the most useful thing you’ll do is make a toastie for a young person who’s hungry.
You’ll get involved in
- client enquiries, referrals and appointments
- client data, records and management systems
- program administration
- day-to-day business and operational support
- helping organise events, activities and meetings
- purchasing, quotes and suppliers
- facilities and fleet
- client and stakeholder feedback
- all the everyday things that help VPG run well.
Some of the people who contact us are going through difficult circumstances. You’ll need to be someone who can listen, make people feel welcome, provide the right information and know when something needs to be passed on to someone else.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who is friendly, organised, reliable and comfortable with technology. You’ll learn new systems quickly, care about getting the details right and be someone who finishes what they start. If you say you’ll call someone back, you call them back.
If something doesn’t look right, you check it. If you don’t know, you ask.
Your administration experience might come from reception, customer service, a school, medical practice, community services or a business traineeship. We’re open to different backgrounds. We’re interested in what you can do, how you treat people and how you approach your work.
This is an in-centre role because being available to our clients, young people and team is an important part of the job. That said, we’re happy to consider part-time hours or flexible arrangements for the right person. If the role sounds like a outstanding fit but you need some flexibility around your hours, we’d still love to hear from you.
Why VPG?
You’ll join a great team and have the chance to learn a lot. You’ll work with people across VPG and build broad experience across client services, community services, systems and business operations. We’ll support you to learn, trust you to do your job and listen when you have ideas about how we could do things better.
We care about good systems and getting the details right. But we also know there’s a person behind every referral, phone call and enquiry.
If you’re good with people, enjoy being busy and take pride in getting things right, we’d love to hear from you.
