About the Team The Graduate Research School holds an significant place in UTS' ambitions, it is through the GRS that we:
- lead strategic planning, policy development and quality assurance in research education
- maintain an education and training program aimed at developing the skills of research students and their supervisors thereby lifting the quality of our program, enhancing the outcomes afforded to our staff and students and the increasing the opportunities that are created
- apply a pan-University approach to graduate researcher development for research students and supervisors working synergistically with the faculties to augment higher degree by research training and experience
- provide central management and oversight of all stages of research degree candidature; and
- enable quality experience for research students and supervisors through provision of a range of services.
About the Role The Change Management Lead will support the Graduate Research School to establish and embed effective ways of working following operating model changes. The role is responsible for leading stakeholder engagement, communications, workshops and culture-building activities; clarifying team processes and accountabilities; establishing feedback mechanisms; identifying barriers to adoption; and developing measures to track whether new ways of working are being successfully embedded. Working closely with leaders and staff, the role will help build a collaborative, positive and student-focused culture and ensure sustainable behavioural change across the team.
If successful in applying for this role, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the planning and implementation of practical change management activities to support the successful embedding of new ways of working across the Graduate Research School.
- Developing and delivering stakeholder engagement and communication approaches that ensure staff and partners understand the purpose, benefits, expectations and impacts of change.
- Facilitating workshops, forums and discussions to clarify roles, responsibilities, accountabilities, decision-making pathways and team norms.
- Establishing feedback mechanisms to identify staff experiences, barriers to adoption, opportunities for improvement and areas requiring additional support.
- Supporting managers to identify and address barriers and supporting all staff in building a positive, collaborative, accountable and student-focused culture aligned with Graduate Research School priorities.
- Developing reporting to track success and reviewing processes to recommend improvements that strengthen team effectiveness and sustainable change.
With examples, please outline within your Cover Letter, how you meet the following five (5) key selection criteria:
1. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear communications, presentations, briefing materials, FAQs, workshop materials and reports.
2. Strong organisational and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise, coordinate and deliver work within short timeframes.
3. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and support constructive engagement during change.
4. Sound understanding of change management principles, stakeholder engagement,
organisational culture and continuous improvement approaches.
5. Experience designing and delivering engagement activities, workshops, communications and feedback mechanisms.
Remuneration Base Salary Range: $ 125,706 - 143,166 pa (HEW 8)
This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until March 2027
