About the role

Royal Hotel Euston is seeking an experienced Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. Based in Euston, NSW 2737, this role is central to delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our guests and patrons. As a Chef/Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and contributing to the overall success of our food service operation.

This position offers the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills whilst working with a dedicated hospitality team in a dynamic pub and hotel environment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency and presentation across all meals
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards and health code requirements
- Manage inventory of food supplies and ingredients, including ordering and stock rotation
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked safely and to specification
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including proper equipment maintenance
- Respond to special dietary requirements and requests from guests and staff
- Contribute to menu development and suggest improvements based on seasonal availability and culinary expertise
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as required

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a busy hospitality environment, preferably in a pub, hotel or restaurant setting
- Robust knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods and culinary best practices
- Demonstrable understanding of food safety standards, hygiene protocols and health regulations
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced kitchen




- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
- Ability to take direction from management whilst also showing initiative and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for food quality and presentation
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are highly desirable
- Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one
