About the Company
This is a vertically integrated industrial technology business operating at the intersection of hardware, software and AI-enabled security. The company designs and manufactures its own surveillance hardware, runs edge AI video processing, and operates a 24/7 nationally accredited monitoring centre.
This is not a SaaS business in the conventional sense. It is a capital-intensive, distributed industrial technology platform with a national logistics network, asset lifecycle management capability, enterprise contract delivery, and supply chain operations running at scale. The company is scaling and has been acquired by a leading private equity firm in a significant transaction with a clear value creation mandate.
Done well, this becomes not a security company but a scaled industrial intelligence platform with recurring SaaS revenue, data analytics capability, and a valuation story that commands a technology multiple.
About the Role
This is a scale-transition mandate. The incoming CEO inherits a working, profitable business with genuine operational discipline built over a decade. The task is not to fix it. The task is to elevate it.
The role requires someone who can hold two lenses simultaneously: the operational lens of a distributed industrial platform managing hardware manufacturing, field deployment, logistics and WHS-sensitive field crews at national scale, and the investor lens of a PE-backed technology business building SaaS recurring revenue metrics, investor-grade reporting and a narrative capable of driving material valuation expansion.
Key priorities for the incoming CEO include architecting the operating model for 10,000+ deployed units without linear headcount growth, professionalising ERP and enterprise systems away from a legacy plant-hire architecture,
defining and tracking true ARR and separating hardware, monitoring and analytics economics, building Rule of 40 financial discipline, engaging confidently with institutional PE investors at board level, and leading the repositioning of the business as a SaaS-enabled hardware-as-a-service platform with genuine recurring revenue.
About You
You have scaled a technology business through a period of significant transformation and come out the other side with a stronger product, a better financial model and a higher valuation. You understand what PE investors need to see and you know how to give it to them without losing operational discipline in the process.
Specifically you bring some combination of the following. You have led a B2B technology business at CEO or equivalent level through a scale transition, ideally with exposure to hardware-software integration or a platform that combines physical asset deployment with recurring software revenue. You are fluent in SaaS metrics, ARR economics and the language of institutional investors, and you have sat across the table from a PE board and held your own.
You have managed distributed operations with real physical complexity, whether that is a national branch network, a field service organisation, a manufacturing operation or a logistics-intensive business. You have taken a business through a valuation step-change, whether through a trade sale, a recapitalisation, or a public market re-rating.
You are commercially aggressive but capital disciplined. You are comfortable in the detail when the business needs you there and capable of stepping back to architect the bigger picture when it does not. You do not confuse narrative with substance and you do not sacrifice operational resilience for a positive story.
