- Lead self-perform earthworks, trenching, utilities and structures
- Long-term opportunity delivering critical airfield infrastructure

The Project

CPB Contractors is delivering a major Defence infrastructure project in regional Western Australia, involving significant upgrades to airfield infrastructure and associated civil assets within an active operational environment.

Operating for at least the next 2 years, this project offers long-term stability, continuity of work and the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant infrastructure.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Civil Supervisor to join our team on a FIFO 2:1 roster from Perth, to lead the secure and efficient delivery of self-performed civil works in a live or controlled airfield environment.

This role will see you leading self-perform crews delivering earthworks, trenching, utilities, drainage, pavements, structures and associated civil infrastructure works.

You'll work closely with engineers, supervisors and project teams to ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

This role would suit a hands-on leader who leads from the front, builds strong teams, takes ownership and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise self-perform civil crews delivering works across detailed excavation, bulk earthworks, trimming, backfill, compaction, drainage, concrete and structures.
- Manage daily work fronts to ensure activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project program, budget, specifications and quality requirements.

- Supervise large blue-collar workforces, including operators, labourers, form workers, concreters, pipelayers, leading hands and plant crews.
- Coordinate plant, labour, materials and equipment to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
- Oversee detailed excavation and earthworks activities in an airfield environment, ensuring tolerance, level control, service protection and sequencing requirements are achieved.
- Manage preparation of subgrades, formation works, service trenches, drainage corridors, pits, foundations and associated civil structures.
- Supervise concrete and structural works, including formwork, reinforcement, pours, finishing, curing and defect management.
- Plan daily and weekly work activities in consultation with the Superintendent, engineers, planners and construction management team.
- Monitor crew productivity, identify constraints and implement corrective actions to maintain progress against program.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs, permits, SWMS and project procedures.
- Maintain a strong field presence and actively drive safe work behaviours, hazard identification and compliance with project safety standards.
- Coordinate with survey, engineering, quality and testing teams to ensure hold points, inspections and compliance requirements are achieved.
- Manage interfaces with other work fronts, subcontractors, airfield operations, logistics teams and client representatives.
- Support accurate daily reporting, including labour, plant,

quantities, delays, constraints, safety observations and progress updates.
- Mentor leading hands and crew members to build capability, accountability and safe production behaviours.

You will bring:

- Eligibility to meet Defence security clearance and site access requirements, including DCAC requirements where applicable.
- Extensive experience supervising civil construction works within major infrastructure, Defence, industrial, utilities, roads or similar project environments.
- Proven experience supervising self-perform crews and managing large blue-collar workforces in a production-driven environment.
- Strong background in detailed excavation, earthworks, subgrade preparation, service installation, drainage and civil infrastructure delivery.
- Demonstrated experience with concrete and structures, including formwork, reinforcement, concrete placement and finishing.
- Experience working around survey control, machine control, design levels, tolerances and detailed excavation requirements.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works interfaces, access, permits and work-front readiness.
- Experience coordinating plant and labour resources across multiple work fronts.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, permits, construction methodologies and project schedules.

Whilst not mandatory, any of the following are highly regarded:

- Experience in Defence, airfield or highly controlled operating environments
- FIFO or regional project experience and the ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment
- Experience with FRP (Form, Reo, Pour) systems, utilities or airfield infrastructure

Please ensure you have discussed the opportunity with your Manager before applying.
