Part-time | 0.8 FTE | Hybrid | Sydney About the Role

We’re looking for a Claims Assistant Manager to join our Qualified Conduct Claims team and play an important role in supporting our members through claims and medico-legal matters.

This part-time 0.8 FTE role combines claims administration, member support and the management of a small portfolio of lower-level claims and notifications. You’ll work alongside experienced claims professionals while developing your knowledge and expertise across professional conduct and medical indemnity.

You’ll manage matters in line with Avant’s claims management protocols and guidelines, helping to ensure our members receive a high standard of service and support when they need it most. What You’ll Be Doing Provide administrative support to the Professional Conduct Claims team.

Manage a small file load of low-level claims and notifications in accordance with relevant claims and investigation guidelines.

Assist with the provision of claims and medico-legal advice and services to Avant and its members.

Facilitate the flow of information between Avant teams, ensuring confidentiality, legislation and internal policies are always considered.

Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to contribute to the delivery of high-quality claims services.





Build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including legal firms, medical professional bodies, tribunals, courts and Avant members.

About

You

We’re looking for someone who is organised, collaborative and confident working with sensitive and sometimes complex information. You’ll bring: Experience in claims, insurance, legal, medical administration or a similar environment.

Strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.

The ability to manage multiple priorities and work within established processes and guidelines.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

A professional and member-focused approach.

The ability to build positive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.

An interest in developing your knowledge of professional conduct, claims and medico-legal matters.
