SPECIALIST – COLLECTIONS & LEGAL RECOVERIES | NON-BANK COMMERCIAL FINANCE

Sydney | Melbourne | Brisbane | Hybrid An exciting opportunity has arisen with a highly successful and expanding non-bank finance company for an experienced specialist in commercial lending recoveries, security enforcement, legal recoveries and insolvency .

This is not a traditional collections role .

We are looking for someone with the technical knowledge and commercial judgement to deal with complex recovery situations across a diverse non-bank lending portfolio—and importantly, someone who can lift the capability of the broader team in these areas.

The role will have significant exposure to complex matters and the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, including C-Suite executives, funders and the Board .

What you'll be doing

- Managing and providing technical guidance on complex delinquent and recovery matters
- Developing appropriate strategies to maximise realisation outcomes and minimise losses
- Assessing and enforcing a range of commercial lending securities
- Managing and coordinating legal recoveries and enforcement strategies
- Dealing with insolvency matters and external professional advisers
- Providing guidance and escalation support to the broader Collections team
- Uplifting team capability around security, enforcement, recoveries and insolvency
- Working closely with Credit, Relationship Management, Legal and senior management
- Contributing to process improvement, portfolio reporting and broader recovery strategy
- Exercising sound commercial judgement while appropriately managing legal, reputational and credit risk





What we're looking for This role will suit someone who has developed genuine specialist expertise in non-bank B2B lending recoveries .

Ideally, you will have:

- 3+ years' experience in non-bank commercial lending recoveries
- Strong understanding of commercial lending security structures and enforcement mechanisms
- Experience across multiple lending products, ideally including equipment finance, term lending, trade finance and debtor/invoice finance
- Robust knowledge of legal recoveries
- Practical experience dealing with insolvency
- The ability to assess a situation, develop a strategy and determine the appropriate recovery pathway
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to deal with senior internal and external stakeholders
- The ability and willingness to mentor and uplift the technical capability of others

A degree in Finance, Commerce, Accounting or Law would be advantageous, but technical experience and knowledge are the key considerations . Why consider it?

The current hybrid arrangement provides for Monday, Tuesday and Friday in the office , with the option to work from home Wednesday and Thursday.
