About the Role

Atlin is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Commercial Managers with Defence experience to support current and upcoming programs in Canberra and Melbourne .

You will provide commercial and contract management expertise across Defence programs, working with project, engineering, procurement and sustainment teams to manage contractual obligations, commercial risks and stakeholder relationships.

Due to the nature of the opportunities, current Australian Defence security clearance is essential (ideally NV1 or higher). Candidates with Baseline clearance are also encouraged to register their interest.

Responsibilities

- manage commercial and contract management activities across Defence programs;
- support contract development, negotiation and administration;
- manage contractual obligations, variations, claims, risks and disputes;
- support procurement, tendering and supplier management activities;
- provide commercial advice to project and program teams;
- monitor supplier performance, milestones and deliverables;

- develop commercial reports, documentation and governance materials;
- build effective relationships with Defence, Commonwealth and industry stakeholders; and




- identify commercial risks and opportunities and support effective resolution.

Qualifications

- Degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Law, Procurement, Contract Management or a related discipline;
- relevant commercial, contract management or procurement qualifications are desirable.

Required Skills

- Defence experience in a Commercial Manager, Commercial Lead, Contract Manager or similar role;
- strong understanding of Defence contracting and procurement environments;

- experience managing complex contracts and commercial arrangements;
- robust contract negotiation and administration skills;
- experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and stakeholders;

- strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary Defence environments.
