: Contract Stainless Steel Welder / Fabricator (Process Plant)

Overview
Looking for an experienced contract welder/fabricator with strong stainless steel skills for process plant work. You'll need a good understanding of process engineering basics, and you should be able to work on your own, sort out problems as they come up, and get the job done without needing to be chased.
What You'll Be Doing
- Weld and fabricate stainless steel gear for process plant equipment (tanks, vessels, piping, skids, and structures)
- Read and work off drawings and specs
- Make good calls on weld procedures, materials, and finish to suit process plant standards
- Spot problems and sort them out yourself, without waiting to be told
- Plan your own work to hit deadlines
- Keep weld quality and accuracy up to standard
- Check your own welds (visual, dye pen, etc.) or work with QA/QC
- Keep your work area safe and tidy
- Work in with engineers, supervisors, and other trades
What You'll Need
- Solid,
hands on experience welding and fabricating stainless steel, ideally on process plant equipment
- Positive understanding of process engineering basics (hygiene, flow, pressure, material compatibility)
- Able to work independently, sort out problems, and finish what you start
- Trade qualification (Cert III Engineering Fabrication or equivalent)
- Current welding tickets for the job (TIG, MIG, orbital, whatever's relevant)
- Able to read drawings and specs
- Know your way around the relevant Australian Standards (AS 1554, AS/NZS 3992, etc.)
- Full working rights, site inductions, and any tickets needed (White Card, working at heights, confined space, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Experience in food, pharma, dairy, or other hygienic process industries
- Orbital welding experience
- Previous contract work on process plants or in industrial fabrication
