The Role

We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Engineering & Reliability team at Helidon. This position exists to support reliable manufacturing operations through the optimisation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our control systems and automation technologies. You'll have the opportunity to work with world-class manufacturing equipment, contribute to significant automation projects and play an important role in improving the reliability, safety and performance of our operations.

You will also be responsible for:

- Developing preventative, predictive and reactive activities to support reliable control systems operation

- Analysing machine performance and implementing system improvements to optimise reliability and efficiency

- Supporting automation, control systems and continuous improvement projects across the site

- Troubleshooting PLCs, automation equipment and control systems to minimise downtime and improve performance

- Ensuring all modifications to plant and equipment comply with established Change Management processes

- Collaborating with engineering, maintenance and operational teams to improve asset performance and production outcomes

What you'll bring

We are looking for a motivated engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, working with automation technologies and identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing performance in a safety-focused setting.

You will also have

- You must be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- A Bachelor Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechatronics, Electrical, Automation or a related discipline





- Experience working within manufacturing, automation or discrete manufacturing environments

- Experience and knowledge of PLCs, industrial automation and control technologies
- The ability to obtain a QLD Explosives Security Clearance (including National Police Check)

Our facility in Helidon, South East Queensland, benefits from a strategically convenient location near the Warrego Highway, offering accessibility to major freight routes in every direction. Positioned adjacent to the QLD DEEDI Explosive Reserve and just 1km from our domestic freight provider, we enjoy an ideal location for streamlined operations. Established in 1988, our 400-acre site is purpose-built for the safe assembly and distribution of Nonel detonator assemblies, vital for supporting the mining and civil works industries.
