Acquired by Paraway in 2016, Tanbar is a large scale cattle growing operation on the Cooper Creek in the channel country of Western Queensland. Tanbar is an important part of the success of Paraway’s Northern breeding operations, receiving the bulk of its cattle from Rocklands, which are grown out for markets on the east coast. What we expect from you:
The Casual Cook role is a short-term position (approx. 8 weeks) suited to a person or couple who is a great team player, happy to cook up simple, homestyle meals - no formal qualifications required. An ideal opportunity to experience a taste of station life, whether you're a traveler or backpacker. Other light duties will be made available for couples.
- Responsible for overseeing the kitchen,
planning and preparing meals for staff and visitors (approximately 10-12 people)
- Manage and prepare food supplies that will be delivered to the stock camps, using caravan type cooking facilities
- Provide general duties around the stock camp locations, including moving supplies/equipment, cleaning and gardening (light domestic work)
- Own caravan can be used however accommodation provided (single bed on the kitchen caravan)
