Versed Studio (Versed) builds creative systems for ecommerce and DTC brands. We make the ads, the product films and the store content, and we build the system the brand keeps using after we've finished. All of that work starts with research.
The work
Before anyone writes a brief, someone has to understand the brand properly. What the category looks like right now, what the competitors are shipping, what's been done to death, where the good reference points are, what their customer responds to. You'd own that.
Day to day
- Pull apart what a brand's competitors are running, and work out what's holding up
- Build the reference set for each project: film, photography, editorial, packaging, whatever the job needs
- Find the visual and cultural reference points a concept can be built on
- Track what's changing in AI creative and what brands are doing with it
- Write it up so it's usable the moment a project starts
Who this suits You're curious before you're anything else. You read a lot, you save a lot, and you've probably got a folder of references you've never shown anyone.
You can tell a positive reference from a pretty one, and you can say why.
You write clearly, because most of what you make here is written.
You don't need to have worked in advertising. If you've done real research somewhere else and you care about design and film, that carries over.
