Applications close at 11:55pm on 23 August 2026 Position objectives To act as Solicitor and Counsel in routine, complex and critical civil matters and appeals on behalf of the State of Tasmania, its instrumentalities and Agencies before a range of courts and tribunals, with a particular emphasis on claims made by those who, as children, were the subject of abuse whilst in care.

To provide comprehensive, accurate and timely advice to the State and its Agencies in respect of civil law matters.

To provide qualified supervision, direction and instruction as may be required to junior legal practitioners in the Abuse in Care team.

To participate in performance management and file reviews as directed by the State Litigator Location - Hobart, Tasmania
