Primary objective

Under the direction of the Customer Service Team Leader, provide contemporary best-practice customer service to clients by undertaking reception and front-counter duties and high-quality administrative support to clinical and operational staff within the Flynn Drive Community Health Centre.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Provide high-quality, client-focused customer service in person,



by telephone and through electronic communications,

ensuring enquiries are managed professionally, culturally sensitively and in a timely manner.

- Maintain accurate client registration, appointment scheduling, clinic bookings and administrative information in departmental electronic systems, ensuring records are current, complete and managed in accordance with confidentiality,

privacy and information management requirements.

- Support the effective day-to-day operation of the Flynn Drive Community Health Centre, including issuing security fobs,

vehicle administration duties, maintenance of office supplies and equipment, procurement activities, minute taking,

booking travel for staff, and use of government financial and administrative systems in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.

- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety requirements, infection prevention practices and departmental procedures to support protected, high-quality services and workplaces.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Previous experience providing administrative, reception and front-counter customer service support.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively,



respectfully and culturally sensitively with clients, families, service providers and staff, including people who may be distressed, vulnerable or requiring additional support.
- High-level computer skills and proficiency using relevant electronic systems and applications, with the ability to accurately maintain records, process information and support procurement and purchasing activities.
- Sound understanding of confidentiality, privacy and information management requirements, with the ability to apply relevant policies, procedures and guidelines in a health service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, exercise sound judgement, solve practical problems and manage competing priorities while working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including the ability to provide clear information and maintain professional working relationships.
- Current NT driver licence or the ability to obtain one.

Desirable

- Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
