Role: Data Migration Test Analyst

Rate: $600 - $750 per day

Location: Melbourne, VIC

Contract Duration: 9 months contract

Hours: AU Standard Office hours

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3x in the office, 2 WFH)

What you’ll be doing:

- Develop and execute comprehensive data migration test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
- Contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of an automated data reconciliation framework.
- Define reconciliation rules, validation logic, comparison processes, and reporting requirements.
- Validate data migrated from Microsoft SQL Server to PostgreSQL using source-to-target mapping documentation.
- Perform row-count reconciliation, field-level validation, referential integrity checks, and exception analysis.
- Verify data type conversions, transformations, business rules, and default values.
- Conduct functional, system integration, regression, and performance testing associated with data migration.
- Identify, document, track, retest, and support defects through resolution.
- Develop and execute SQL queries across SQL Server and PostgreSQL to validate migration results.
- Collaborate with IICS developers, database administrators, business analysts, and business stakeholders to resolve data quality issues.
- Produce reconciliation reports and testing evidence to meet project governance and audit requirements.
- Support UAT through data validation and defect analysis.
- Participate in migration rehearsals, cutover activities,



and post-migration verification.
- Ensure testing is completed in line with agreed project timelines, quality standards, and governance requirements.

What you’ll bring:

- Demonstrated experience testing data migration or ETL projects.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying and validating Microsoft SQL Server data.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
- Experience with Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) or comparable ETL/data integration technologies.
- Experience designing or contributing to automated data reconciliation and validation frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data validation, reconciliation, and data quality principles.
- Experience developing test plans, test cases, test scripts, and defect reports.
- Understanding of SDLC and established software testing methodologies.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable test and defect management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Highly regarded:

- Cloud-based data integration platform experience.
- Knowledge of database migration methodologies and best practices.
- Data migration performance testing experience.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality frameworks.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity with data profiling and automated data comparison tools.
