Role Description The Database Geologist role is responsible for connecting geological data workflows with EarthSQL’s database solutions. On a day-to-day basis, this role collaborates with geologists, and data specialists to capture, validate, and structure drilling and geological data for use in Quest© and Xtend© systems.

The Database

Geologist position assists in designing and refining database schemas, workflows, and data processes, supports troubleshooting and system tuning,



and contributes geological expertise to client implementations and data migrations. Regular tasks include preparing technical documentation, supporting users with data-related queries, and helping improve processes for exploration and mining data management.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience in field work and geological mapping, with the ability to translate field observations into structured database records.
- Strong skills in geological logging and drilling data interpretation, including familiarity with drilling programs and sample management workflows.
- Understanding of drilling operations and metrics, including cost and performance tracking, and their application in database and reporting systems.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience working with geological or mining databases and data management tools; familiarity with SQL, PowerBI, or similar platforms is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on data quality and consistency.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support end users.
