With a strong and growing pipeline of projects, we are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team. This role will be responsible for driving the coordination of design outcomes, securing planning approvals, and managing documentation from cost planning to construction phases, right through to project completion.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Design Director, the Design Manager plays a key role in collaborating with Urban Property Group’s internal teams, including Development and Construction teams, to successfully deliver multiple residential and/or mixed-use developments.

Additionally, the Design Manager may be tasked with evaluating design feasibility for potential acquisitions, coordinating design presentations, and creating design standards or performance solutions.

The position is integral in ensuring that all design outputs align with Urban Property Group's design vision,



requiring close collaboration with contractors' consultants and internal delivery teams to maintain the highest standards of design and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and manage consultants to deliver high quality design documentation on time, on budget as well as in compliance with the Project Brief.
- Lead the review of the project design for regulatory and building compliance.
- Review the design for constructability in collaboration with the construction team and trade subcontractors to drive efficiencies during delivery.
- Actively participate in the methodology development for the delivery of the project.
- Maintain design quality control management.

ABOUT YOU

- 5-7 years experience as a Design Manager.
- Experience in Class 2 residential projects, ideally with high-rise, mixed-use, or BTR developments.
- Experience working in developer-builder environments, balancing internal and external collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in Autocad, Revit and Bluebeam are preferred, not required.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
